Remember the Mentos and Diet Coke experiment that became an internet phenomenon? It all began as a major UK kids' marketing campaign to promote a national schools competition.
Mentos wanted to put the fizz back into science education - it achieved that, and more, with a top class kids' marketing strategy.
Our event management team organised a giant Mentos and Diet Coke fountain display in central London to launch the competition, and suffice to say, it was explosive.
The small pores on the mints' surface speeds up the release of CO2 from the soft drink, creating huge amounts of foam that rockets out of the bottle.
The competition reached over 56 million people with the teacher subscription rate being over two times the expected amount.
The event was screened live on BBC London News, sparked a favourable debate on Radio 5 Live, and secured extensive broadcast, online and print coverage.
